Tapwell

Tapwell provides a SoftPOS SDK and white-label app that lets acquirers and ISVs accept contactless cards and wallets on off-the-shelf Android phones and, where platform access allows, on iPhones. PIN entry on glass is supported for transactions above contactless limits, using a PIN-on-mobile architecture assessed under the PCI Mobile Payments on COTS standard.

The SDK runs continuous attestation: it checks the device for rooting, hooking frameworks and debug builds before and during each transaction, and a back-end monitoring service can disable an individual device if it detects tampering.

Acquirers use Tapwell to reach micro-merchants such as market traders, delivery couriers and tradespeople for whom a dedicated terminal never made economic sense.
