About
Lumen Rails is a payments-as-a-service platform that lets software companies launch branded cards, stored-value accounts and payouts without assembling a patchwork of processors. Its core is a double-entry, event-sourced ledger: every authorization hold, clearing record, ACH return and FedNow credit is written as an immutable journal entry, so a program's balances can be replayed and audited to the cent.
On the card side, Lumen Rails runs a just-in-time funding model where the customer's own decision engine can approve or decline each authorization within a strict latency budget, with stand-in rules if the webhook times out. BIN sponsorship is brokered through a panel of partner banks, and program managers get a single compliance dashboard covering KYC status, velocity limits and Reg E dispute clocks.
The platform emits ISO 20022-native payment messages for account-to-account flows and supports FedNow, RTP, same-day ACH and SEPA Instant through the same API resource, which keeps treasury teams out of rail-specific plumbing.
