Checklist
What to review before your Washington auto policy renews
Review seven things before every auto renewal: liability limits, underinsured motorist limits, PIP, deductibles, listed drivers, listed vehicles and their use, and discounts. Ten minutes with the declarations page catches most expensive surprises.
The seven-point renewal checklist
Short answer: Limits, UIM, PIP, deductibles, drivers, vehicles, discounts.
- 1Liability limits — do they protect your home equity and savings?
- 2Underinsured motorist — does it match your liability limits?
- 3PIP — did you keep it, and at what level?
- 4Deductibles — still an amount you could pay tomorrow?
- 5Drivers — anyone added, licensed, moved out or away at college?
- 6Vehicles and use — commute changes, sold cars, rideshare use?
- 7Discounts — multi-policy, safe driver, good student, paid in full
